SJG to Publish Hellboy RPG

020131 - Steve Jackson Games announced that it will be publishing the Hellboy Sourcebook and Roleplaying Game based on the Hellboy comic series by Dark Horse Comics.

Once again, don't let the lack of the word GURPS fool you: this game also uses that venerable system.

Seafarer's Handbook released for d20 System

020130 - Fantasy Flight Games has released its Seafarer's Handbook as part of its Legends & Lairs line of d20 System supplements. You can see a sneak preview by visiting the book's web page.

Cumberland Offers Free Typefaces

020130 - Cumberland Games is offering eight new TrueType typefaces suitable for role-playing uses. You can find the new offerings here.

GenCon Pre-Registration Begins February 4

020128 - Pre-registration for this year's GenCon will begin on February 4, 2002.

Recent Steve Jackson Games Releases

020128 - Steve Jackson Games has released a few items:

Transhuman Space is the premiere release for a new line of supplements detailing a "hard" science fiction campaign setting. Despite the lack of a "GURPS" moniker, this 208-page book is another built around the company's flagship line.

GURPS Traveller: Heroes 1 - Bounty Hunters is the first a series of mini-books spotlighting various adventuring professions.

GURPS Vehicles Expansion 1 is a 32-page supplement for GURPS Vehicles.

Also released was a reprint of GURPS Religion.

Green Ronin develops Secret College of Necromancy

020128 - Green Ronin is working on Secret College of Necromancy, for the d20 System. The 96-page volume by David "Zeb" Cook and Wolfgang Baur is set for a May release.

Free Previews from Eden

020128 - Eden Studios has posted a free 10-page preview for the upcoming Enter the Zombie, an undead martial arts supplement for All Flesh must be Eaten.

Also posted are previews of Chapter 1 and Chapter 3 of the upcoming The Unseen Hand: Black Book Sourcebook for Conspiracy X.

As if that wasn't enough, you can also download CJ Carella's WitchCraft Quickstart Introductory Kit, a 24-page pdf.

020122 - Chaosium is now shipping Slaves of Fate, an adventure for its Worlds of the Eternal Champion: Dragon Lords of Melnibone campaign setting using the d20 System.

BITS releases 101 Corporations

020122 - The British Isles Traveller Support company (better known as BITS) has released 101 Corporations, a rather self-explanatory supplement for Traveller.

Atlas Games plans Occult Lore

020122 - Atlas Games is working on Occult Lore, a book of alternate magic systems for the d20 System. The 240-page volume will be published in May as part of the company's Penumbra line, and is expected to sell for $30.

Spycraft Update & Preview

020117 - Alderac Entertainment Group has renamed the previously named Series Archer as Shadowforce Archer. Shadowforce Archer is the campaign setting for the company's Spycraft line of modern-day espionage rules for the d20 System. You can find a free copy of the 32-page Spycraft Lite here.

Wizards updates Official D&D Game Rule FAQ

020115 - Wizards of the Coast has posted the latest update of its official D&D Game Rule FAQ. The 57-page .pdf file is available as a free download.

New Sparks Available

020115 - Cumberland Games is now offering Sparks: The Legend of Winter Forest. This latest set of "printable paper miniatures" features 26 fantasy monsters and 20 pieces of scenery. The TrueType Font download is $10.

Once again the company is bypassing your friendly local gaming store and offering the product exclusively online.

Dark Portal needs Character

020114 - Dark Portal Games is sponsoring a contest to find the best d20 System characters to use as pre-generated characters and features on its web site and in its publications. Winners get $30 per winning character and a signed copy of the first publication that the character is featured in, as well as credit as the character's original creator.

Green Ronin opens Discussion Boards

Buffy RPG Site now Running

020105 - Eden Studios has now made the official announcement and launched the official web site for its upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG.

020104 - During my Christmas break Steve Jackson Games shipped a number of items that should be at your local retailers' now:

GURPS Character Builder is computer application for Microsoft Windows to generate characters for GURPS.

GURPS Deadlands Dime Novel 2 - Wanted: Undead or Alive is a hybrid story and adventure module for GURPS Deadlands.

In Nomine Anime is a supplement for anime-style role-playing for either In Nomine or GURPS In Nomine.

GURPS Cops is a GURPS worldbook for role-playing in the world of modern law enforcement.

JAGS releases C-13

020103 - Marco Chacon sent me a note to let me know that the JAGS Team has released C-13, the latest free campaign setting for the JAGS RPG.

Marco describes C-13 as a magic/technological mix with steampunk sensibilities and detailed character archetypes. It is an alternate modern day earth where North America's eastern seaboard is still divided into 13 Colonies. The New World is one infused with magic. Demon powered cars fill the streets of the gothic metropolitan cities. On the frontier half-men/half-animals make war against the colonial army (which defends itself with gattling gun-filled zeppelins and steam-driven tripod war-machines). It is a world where buildings have spirits, evil lurks in the shadows, and mankind has the power to change the universe--but perhaps not the vision.

Bastion releases Minions

020102 - Bastion Press has released Minions: Fearsome Foes, a 96-page collection of monsters for the d20 System. The books sells for $25.

Deep7 releases Six Gun Second Edition

020102 - Deep7 released the second edition of its Six Gun RPG.

Eilfin releases Undiscovered

020102 - Adam Theriault of Eilfin Publishing sent me an e-mail to let me know that Undiscovered: The Quest for Adventure is now available. The game book comes in two flavors: a $30, 368-page hard-bound Core Rulebook; and a $20, 276-page soft-cover Player's Codex.

Green Ronin to Publish Mutants & Masterminds RPG

020102 - Green Ronin will publish Mutants & Masterminds, the first serious superhero RPG for the d20 System. The game is designed by Steve Kenson (best known for Shadowrun) and is currently scheduled for a Fall, 2002 release. You can read the full press release for more information.
