Guild Wars - Skills

Guild Wars packs a huge skill bank for each player, with each character having about 60 skills per class and with a secondary profession that gives 1 player around 120 skills to choose from. In Guild Wars you can only have 8 skills at your finger tips at any one time. Since this is implemented it makes it much harder to get the right build of skills you enjoy most so when you think your skills are not working well try some new skills.

Each profession has different attributes and these attributes determine the power of your skills. For example the monk has: divine favor (primary monks only), healing prayers, protection prayers and smiting prayers. If you increase the points in healing prayers, your healing skills will increase dramatically. The same goes for all the skills in the game. With this power to increase skills you can be way more powerful in specific area’s, for instance I want to be a hard hitting warrior. I would increase my strength to the highest point, this giving me a much harder swing at my enemies.

Guild Wars like many other games have certain skills that are very strong and powerful and guild wars have quite a few. Guild Wars has just put a little twist on it. The most powerful skills are known as “Elite skills” these skills are extremely handy in those hard fought battles, they have saved my ass plenty of times. Although these skills are hard to come across, you can only acquire them through defeating the boss mobs that uses it. Each profession has about 7-15 Elite skills. I should also say, you can only have 1 Elite skill in your skill bar at any 1 time. This makes choosing the right Elite skill very tough.
